I would recommend using a lighter, not matches...they take too long, and you use lots of them. Well, I do.
For lanyards, I mostly do a hangman's noose. Many others do, too. Take your time and make sure all the lengths are right, or you may kick yourself for "wasting cord." I know I do, but I'm also a perfectionist.

Roodog said:Take one of those BIC pens and empty out the pen. Take out the ink and plastic tip, leaving only the tube part. Then use it to tie a hangman. Wrap the paracord tighty aroung the tube. You can use the hollow inside to thread the end back through the center when youve wound the wraps tight. this will help keep it tight and even.
