Let's talk about Lanyards and Paracord.

I can't tie them fancy at all. I just put some paracord through my handles and make sure they're long enough to get around my wrist without alot of slack. Then, I doouble tie it and work some Gorrila Glue into the knot to make sure it stays put. For Grab lanyards on folders, Triple Aught Design sells a couple of really cool ones.

Paracord. Cut it. Burn it...get a bit high if you get too close...

I would recommend using a lighter, not matches...they take too long, and you use lots of them. Well, I do.

For lanyards, I mostly do a hangman's noose. Many others do, too. Take your time and make sure all the lengths are right, or you may kick yourself for "wasting cord." I know I do, but I'm also a perfectionist.

Thanks for the info!

What length should I cut to make a hangman?

Actually...I would experiment with it before cutting...just put about 6"-1' through, and do a hangman's noose, then see if it's the length ya want, etc. If yes, cut it free. If not, untie it, play with the lengths, and try again.

To say simply, I never have an idea of the exact length....

gotcha, Thanks again.

Oh yeah, that's right; burn the ends. And it's Gorilla Glue. I can't spell worth a sh*t tonight. When ya' burn the ends, make sure you don't overburn...melted plastic dripping on your skin hurts.

Take one of those BIC pens and empty out the pen. Take out the ink and plastic tip, leaving only the tube part. Then use it to tie a hangman. Wrap the paracord tighty aroung the tube. You can use the hollow inside to thread the end back through the center when youve wound the wraps tight. this will help keep it tight and even.
