So I got an order in before the most recent run sold out! I've had my sights set on this blade from the moment I saw it. When I was new to S!K I saw the necker 1 and thought to myself, now that's a sweet little blade. If only they made one with a longer handle....Then 10 seconds later I stumbled upon possibly my favorite S!K. It seems the necker 2 is one of the more seldom discussed S!Ks so let's post up about what you typically use your N2 for. And of course we need some pics[emoji12]!

I had somehow resisted a Necker II as well. I did grab two from this latest run, but missed out on the natural tan micarta and black handled variants. I'm pretty anxious to get hands on them and see how they work for me. One may end up being a gift for someone, or it may end up in one of my truck bags.

I think that link will do just fine. That review is a good as it gets. Thank you for being so thorough! I thought a new thread was in order due to the (hopefully) rejuvenated interest in this knife due to the recent run, that sold out much sooner than expected!!

My necker II rides in my boot most of the time. Till recently, now I guess its my wife's.

I at least carry my necker.

I was lucky enough to be able to pick up my pre-order up when S! was still in PA. I saw a prototype on an earlier visit and was very interested in it. Anyway I ended up getting a second when I was there and ordered 2 more a few weeks later. I use mine more than my 4.1 around the house. It's such a great little knife and I use it all the time. I keep one in my hiking and camping bag and in my car.

I just got back from a trip and my new N-2 Sheath was waiting for me! I thought I'd throw up a comparison picture to show the changes Kiah made:

Wow, very cool! Thanks for taking the time to post the comparison.

How did I not know this was being revised? Is that Kiah's work or the new kydexer?

I think it's Kiah, I seem to recall him posting something about it in an earlier thread.

Chiral on your 2nd post of your review whats the knife about the H&K Plan D?
Looks fallkniven handle ish.

That's a Muela PIK-AS, made in Spain. I found at my local hardware store, makes a nice skinner  especially after thinning the edge.

I did own a Fallkniven WM1 briefly but the blade was to thick and the handle too small & thin for my purposes. *shrug*

Woah.... I'd be interested to hear more about this new version, how it compares (pros and cons).

Yea I believe kiah said he had something new in store for this sheath. I'm looking it. I think I'll order one but I want to be sure this is what I'll get.

It should be, i only ordered the sheath not a knife and that was what i got! I got my necker 2nd hand and I wanted a black sheath for it.

That would be me.

I made extras for S!K. I'll be making some more, with additional colors, in the near future.

That looks great. How do you like it so far? The higher thumb push spot looks like it would help a lot.

Thanks for chiming in Kiah, For those curious I really like it. I think the best change is the completely open finger hole. The fact that the sheath "clicks" onto the handle and not the fingerhole also helps insertion a bit. The higher thumb ramp is really nice. Plus it looks pretty cool! Also the clip is a little more squared off as well, see below:

Oh that's cool! I had to zoom in to see the big difference in the other photo. I need to get one of these next go around.
