Letter openers...yes really

I had a guy with 5 sons and son-in-laws and he wanted knives for all of them for Christmas. One was a fisherman, no problem, filet knife. One was an officer of the law, tactical weapon, ok. 3 were office execs who were pretty sure you used a knife to put butter on bread. I said maybe they need letter openers almost as a joke, grasping at straws. My buddy thought that was a great idea. So the results were quick and simple and mostly made out of scraps from other projects.

The break down here consists of 440C 1/16" thick, some burl, African Blackwood, Red Heartwood, a little chunk of ivory some pieces of brass.

You know, My dad would probably use a letter opener more often than a knife. And you did it from scrap material. I say good business move. Not to mention they look great. Very well done!
