Recommendation? Letting wood "rest" after cutting?

Good afternoon everyone. I cut some desert ironwood scales out of a 1" block today, and I am wondering if I need to let the scales sit before I do any flattening. I was doing some research and found this thread https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/producing-flat-wood-scales.1511521/, where Stacy said "After any cutting lengthwise, you need to let the slabs sit for a week or so to release any stresses. They may warp. Sand them flat if they do. Clamping to straighten is not good, as they will just warp again in the future and possible ruin a lovely knife."

Does this apply to cutting blocks as well? Or is DI stable enough that it doesn't matter?

Thanks in advance.

I think it’s a good idea but of course it depends on the wood ...but I would say that it’s less necessary on desert ironwood. My experience has been that DI is probably good to go without requiring some sitting time

It’s always a good practise to let wood acclimate after cutting. Stabilized wood, and the most stable woods need this the least, but after making custom guitars, my necks rest after each process for a week before moving on.
