Now the woodsman may or may not be extinct.

I am looking at the the Leuku, Hunter and Goucho, (bushfinger to but I have no reservations whatsoever about it if one pops up in a color I am looking for), never seen the Goucho before this week. Really wanted to go for one but had no idea what it was called or its specs. The blue mango was amazing.
Looks like it would make a fine bushcrafter. What about the padre, the apparent larger version, what are its specs? Seems like it would be a good proxy for a woodsman shape/geometry wise.

For me the Leuku, at least on the aesthetic end, is a narrow blade compared to the handle. Like the Leuku, I wish it was a more spear point. Otherwise, to me at least, the length, shape, handle, everything is perfect to my ideal blade shape.

It has been noted by many the hunter is like a large bushfinger and well suited for just about anything so eyeing one of them as a possibility.

From this weeks FBF (12/12/14) I cannot quite make out if the tips of the hunter and Lueku are more or less the same shape, obviously the rest of the blade and handle differ.

Anyone have a pick of a hunter and Leuku together? Maybe a Padre pic as well if that one may come out of retirement?

The length and width of the Hunter is very different from the Leuku. The Leuku is a historical pattern with a Fiddleback handle. Its blade is narrower and longer than the Hunter. Both are pretty much woods beater knives.

The Gaucho is basically a paring knife. The blue Mango one was very hard to let go...

Ha I bet that guy was tough to let go. I think I am going to grab that Leuku, just to georgeous. I will just have to find something else in 6 months or a year.

Well I grabbed the lueku, just means I will buy another model down the road ha. Damn you and your awesome blades! :)

Cant wait to get it. Indeed stunner. My first and hopefully not remotely my last FB blade.

The leuku is such a useful design lending itself to a vast array if tasks.
Great snag on a beautiful knife!

Nice score on that leuku btw! That one almost got me in trouble with the wife. I'm a big fan of the Recluse, the leuku looks like a pumped up version. I'll bet it's very nice in person and at 3/16" you can baton till the cows come in. Have fun abusing it!

I'm quite taken with the Leuku lately. I think its the one I execute the best of my models. You aren't going to be unhappy with that one. Thank you!

Man you're hard on yourself, probably why you've come so far so quickly. Keep up the great work, especially turning out accomplished apprentices!
