You guys know I have made friends with Jack Levin from Brooklyn, NYC. He's an old-world craftsman who really has a style all his own. His machining talents are amazing. This knife is TOTALLY carved by a milling machine--but not by any CNC methods. He figures all this stuff out on his own. Even the ivory has been indexed and fluted with a machine.

That's not to say there isn't a heck of a lot of hand work in this as well, but it's just amazing how his ideas can be transformed this way. He's an artist with a Bridgeport as his brush! (Those of you with machining skills can REALLY admire this handiwork)His ideas of shapes are superb.

Great blade--super sharp both sides. Perfect grinds. Beautiful shapely guard and pommel. Real Ivory. He "Threw this together" with parts that were hanging around. He asked me to put it on eBay for him. Reserve was cheap. I mean CHEAP! (Shhhhhh $300!) I took it home for some pictures and fell in love with it. I called and said "no deal--it's mine for your reserve?" He said 'Yeah'. It will stay put. It fits well with much of my other art knives. :D

Take a break from the norm and check these out!

Excellent all around!
Impressive dagger and good photos :)
I have to ask....what was the background in the second pic?!!!

That's two of my wife's scarves used as my background.

I'm a scavenger!

Another beautiful knife. The pommel is incredible and punctuates the handle in a most pleasing fashion. Combining with the very simple blade, the result is a knife that becomes progressively more complex as your eyes travel rearward. Very nice!

Oh yeah, my compliments to your wife as well, nice scarf! :D

Coop, excellent use of what's available :)
Right up there with Doc Lathe's funky lawnchair!
Keep up the good work,
Ebbtide out.
