I got a couple of lexan flasks for Christmas this past year. They are some of my favorite pieces of gear. The flask hold 16 oz. Because its lexan, it's not damaged by boiling water. If I'm cold, I can pop them into the microwave for a few minutes, and then tuck them under a vest. You can also use them to add extra warmth to a sleeping bag. As for hauling drinking water, they fit in BDU cargo pockets, as well as the front pockets of BDUs and Carharts. I really love these things.

You can get them here

Two 16 ounce flasks ought to be able to add some warmth to a sleeping bag or anywhere else, depending on what you put in them! :D

I may have to pick one (or two) up.

avoid GSI's 10 oz pilsner glasses, they break were the bass screws into
the vessel very easily.

otherwise their stuff is great.

Nalgene bottles are also made of Lexan. I've done the same with them. Using the smaller ones you can dry your boots, gloves... during the night inside the tent. They're great mountaineering.

It should be noted that AFAIK you shouldn't store juice or alcohol in lexan bottles.

!!!

i put juice/alcohol (sometimes both) in my lexan nalgene all the time! is something terrible going to happen?

i know you shouldn't put juice in a real, steel flask, but that's a different topic.

!!??

I've heard it eats into the Lexan so you get Lexan in your juice/alcohol and a ruined bottle after a while.

I forgot to mention that the original reason I wanted these two lexan flasks was because they fit in the water bottle holders on the sides of my fannypack and daypack without interfering with my arm movement. The discovery that they also fit cargo pockets and front pants pockets was just a bonus.

i think someones got you fooled. at least, i put all kinds of liquids in my nalgene and have done so for the past 3 years. the nalgene is still going strong, and i don't have cancer or anything yet. but i'll keep you updated.
