WHAT A BUMMER!!! Man, I never take my seb on the river since I got a river knife.... I have no idea how it happened, I just forgot. I had my LG.Seb in my waistband in the morning... FORGOT ABOUT IT... and it was GONE when I checked just before taking out of the river. SO.... If you live near Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River in Colorado, It's snorkel time! I lost the knife about two months ago and have searched and searched. I guess it has been snatched or is still up for grabs! MAN, I'm BUMMED!!! Either I'll save up (which will be a WHILE) or have to sell my sm.Seb and something else to buy another. I haven't posted in a while, so I don't know many folks here anymore, but I'm just trying to say... Common dudes like me who can't "really" afford to own such a thing as a $400 knife... WATCH YOUR A$$!!! Your beloved prize can jump out at any time... or in a class III Whitewater rapid...

You put a $400 knife in your waistband before hitting the rapids? No sheath? Man, I'm sorry for your loss.

dont worry man, sebbies got a built in homing device it will find its way back to you even if you gotta spend 400 dollars to kick that device into gear and go pick it up in a far away land.

That is a total downer :(

I lost a box of flies in a similar fashion including ones my late uncle tied for me. I went the next day and searched too. No joy, either.

Put it down to prosperity and buy another nice one. Besides, you've given me another possible excuse to give the wife, so it's not all bad !

Mark.

I think the best thing you can do is replace it as fast as possible and take precautions for the future. There is nothing wrong with the way you carried it, but you should tie a longer lanyard to attach it to something. Also there are the CRK sheaths. I bought one for my EDC (Small Micarta) and it is worth the money. Good luck. Let us know what you decide to do.

I rode a whole day in west virginia with my small sebbie through class five rapids and all. I knew I was and was thankful it made it the wholw trip. Sorry about your loss.

::sigh,just like Mutt's belt snaps coming loose at the dock and falling into the river with his Vicodin

That's gotta hurt! My condolences. Hopefully you'll run across a good deal on a new one to take the sting out a little.

Sorry to hear that. I lost mine in the office, but it was returned a week later. I know how that feels. I was quite depressed for a while there. :(

Well, if you look on the bright side, now's your chance to get a brand spanking new sebbie without feeling guilty!

He could get a new one, but I can see how losing a trusted sebbie, the one you've worked with for so long, isn't the first option.

I don't want to sound all dramatic, but it's like losing a trusted dog. You've had it for a while, you've bonded with it, and when it's gone, you're not at all too eager to just got another dog. Not the same as the first one.

I just traded a couple of knives for an mnandi a while back, and not having those two knives doesn't bother me at all.

But when I thought I lost my sebbie, it really bothered me.

Old rule - if you're in a boat and you want to keep your stuff ,tie it to you or the boat !! A sebenza ? If I lost mine I'd take the whole river apart !!

It must be a pain in the heart, i always put my knives in a pouch, located in the pocket and i feel reassure do not lost it. But during my fishing parties, in case of emergency, i have to remove waders, put my hand in the pocket, too late, so what is the solution, may be a rope around the neck.
