A sherman tank to be precise. This week, I experienced a horrible thing, many of us spyderknuts have experienced or heard about, the clip of my Temperence folder snagged and completely bent outward. I was traveling in a busy train, so I had to quickly put it away, lest I be caught nursing a ´deadly weapon´ back to health!
Still when I arrived, I quickly examined the clip. Ha! No screws were stripped only a bent clip. With the help of my trusty leatherman micra and a friendly doorpost I was back on track. Thank you Spyderco! I had the same thing happen to a Microtech SOCOM and the screws completely stripped out, no quick repair there! It reminded me much of the stories I heard about the WWII Sherman tank. Supposedly it was designed in such a fashion that even "an Iowa farm hand could repair it in battle, since it was very similar to farming machines". Perhaps not a very good analogy, but still, with minimal tools and imagination I got my folder working again. So good in fact that I am not going to order a new clip or look at it again with ´real´ tools. Great design (4 screws) and great manufacturing!
