Liberal Teacher Wants Tomahawks OUTLAWED

Hey All,

At my high school on Friday I was talking to one of my friends about the NG Ranger Spike Hawk I have ordered with the ATC. We were rather privately discussing tomahawks in general and how nice it will be to finally have an ATC tomahawk of my own. My intellectual liberal teacher overheard our conversation and joined in by saying how inhumane tomahawks are. I commented that I would only use it for throwing an utilitarian purposes, but she said they should be outlawed all the same; just like she said guns should be. When I told her the military approves of tomahawks as part of the soldier's basic load, she said she wasn't surprised "those butchers" would allow such a thing. By this time, the level of our conversation had reached the whole class and she made my private discussion her pulpit to preach her sick twisted liberal views to a bunch of teenage mush brains.

I (as calmly and politely as I could) asked her why she doesn't move out of the US if she thinks so lowly of its actions and move to a more liberal place like Europe that she agrees with. Not only was she speechless, she was pissed. I'm now serving a few days detention for "disrupting the class".

BlueFlintHawk,

From your stating that you have to spend time in detention, I am A$$uming you are in high school. In no way is this meant to discredit you, I am just trying to visualize your dilema.

In a diplomatic way, remind your teacher, no, that's not the right term, your "depriver of constitutional freedoms" the next time she wants to join in your discussion and then develop it into a forum, that there will be dissenting opinions. And she can thank, "those butchers" for sacrificing their lives so she can spew her stenching venom!!! :barf:

Sorry, I can't stand so called "liberal thinkers." They are not liberals but control freaks who like to deprive others.

Hawk, stay strong brother and learn from this. Register, Vote, Serve your Country, and educate yourself so that you may educate others!

Thank You. Yes, I am in High School. However, I am told by many adults that I am more mature than quite a few adults they know. Further more that teacher has always encouraged open discussion and debate in class. I was pretty upset she turned my own private discussion against me in front of everyone and when I didn't agree with her, I received punishment. I am 17½ and plan on serving my country as soon as I finish with high school. I have always gotten a 3.8 GPA or better and have always received good citizenship marks and so on. Every other teacher that knows me in that school tells my parents I'm great; a "dream to work with".

The really funny thing is, this hypocrite's favorite actor is Mel Gibson. My god?

Just make sure that so called"teacher" doesn't start ph**king with your grades because you not as liberal as her.

That happened to me back in 1982.

It sure is easy for these "anti-violence" people to preach their sermons when "butchers" guard the fence that protect their freedoms.

I wonder what your teacher thinks about what happenned in Tibet. No guns or tomahawks there... then the Chiense walked in with Cattle prods and machien guns and have occupied the country ever since, beating up on buddhist monks who are careful not to step on ants.

I hear ya, Crayola. Pacifism is like commiting suicide. There will always be crazy nutbags out there. I'd love to see some of these "liberals" try to negotiate with terrorists like they want; they'd come back decapitated in a body bag.

Hawk,

Keep up the great work and laugh to yourself when you see this teacher; you are obviously of superior intellect and social development.

:D

BFH,

I am currently finishing my PhD in Sociology (Social Psychology and Complex Organizations are my specialty areas). I am also and forever will be a Marine. I am sure you can imagine that I have had many experiences that mirror the one you describe. Keep your head up, and read some Clausewitz and Sun-Tzu (both are considered to be the masters of "Western" and "Eastern" military strategy, respectively)...you may find some references and insights in them to combat this "teacher" and others like her...

Regards.

Thanks a lot, rigormootis. I will definitely take your advice. I also would like to thank you for protecting my freedom :)

BlueFlintHawk,

Now, I don't agree that pacifism is suicide. In some cases, pacifism would get you ahead materially in the world! Look at Ghandi and India's Independence. If he taught his people to pick up weapons, the Brits would have slaughtered thousands of them and India wouldn't have gained her independence.

Sorry, I just had to clear that up :) I am doing a Masters in Philosophy, and specifically studying terrorism. Now, you have to be careful as to how you define these things (a philosophical problem in and of itself), but there are 3 military strategies one can take. 1) championing (e.g. sending your army against their army), passive resistance (not sending out any champions, but refusing to bend to your enemies' will), and terrorism (abandoning the championing practice, going around your enemy's champions and directly attacking their non-combattant.)

I dunno, why I typed that, but now you know what I'm up to at the university! Anyways, I don't think Buddhists in Tibet are stupid or irrational for not fighting back. They have strong religious convictions to non-violence, and if they die, they die. I respect them for that, and given their religious convictions, it would be irrational for them to fight back. Most countries use a mixture of championing, passive resistance and terrorism (as defined above). In Tibet, they practice only one military strategy (generally speaking). Hmm.. I guess that gives you something to think about the next time you serve detention for speaking up for freedom!

By the way, a lot of the time these anti-gun people also think that meat comes from supermarkets. Yes, hunting is bad because you have to kill animals. I worked in a meat plant for 2 summers. I love talking to these anti-hunting people :)

In my opinion its better to die fighting for freedom than bend over for the Brits. We very well could have, and many did die for our freedom; even when things looked dark and most thought we would surely lose. It is their perfect right not to want to use guns or violence, but its just a losing strategy. I just don't want that to happen to America. If you are not willing to fight for freedom and independence, then you're already dead.

Good discussion guys,

Here's some things to remember/think about:

The Puritans fled Europe to excercise religious freedom in the New World. Upon their arrival, they promptly started persecuting non-Puritans effectively establishing an environment much like the one they escaped.

The Colonials persecuted the Native Americans and slaves.
Young America persecuted the Native Americans and slaves.
Mature America persecuted the Native Americans and Blacks.

The events/situations above were initially instituted by educated, well-bred, business types of unquestionable honor. It usually ended with military or revolutionary forces doing battle to rectify the wrong.

All governments have their faults, ours is no different. We do seem to get it right more often than not.

Let the teacher speak her educated, well-bred dialog for words are all she has. In the proper context, your Tomahawk permits you to speak no words but have a powerfully obvious message.

Some very interesting observations. I am sure that we shall have some interesting discussions here on BFC!

BlueFlintHawk:

Just to clarify, the Brits don't have anything against guns. Civillians have a tough time with them, but not the military. The SAS love their guns! In fact, the SAS were probably the first, if not one of the first groups on the ground in Afghanistan. They sure did a great job Scud Hunting in Iraq.

It is in Tibet where they dont use violence, and it was in India where Ghandi motivated the population to practive passive resistence against the gun-toting Brits: and it worked! Also, to say that not using guns is a losing strategy depends on what game you are playing. To hurt anyone/thing is a grave moral offense according to Tibetan Buddhism, so if they did pick up a gun, they would have "lost" what is really important in their ives. Most North Americans don't share that view, however. Yet, wouldn't it be nice if everyone did? Pretty idealistic, but it would make for a great world.
And I ecco what was said above: just cover your butt and make sure your grades aren't affected. You should get some other teacher on board to make sure your butt is covered. If you don't, there is nothing to stop your teacher from abusing your grades, save for your teacher's integrity. but, th integrity of your teacher is partly what is in question here!

I have watched this post develop over the last few days. I am very interested as to the advice that has been given so far. For the most part I agree with what most of you are saying and I am happy that there are so many people that are willing to defend our freedoms. I have been on the recieving end of the liberal bull for the last 9 years. Since I graduted high school early to join the military in 1992. I spent 9 years in the Army 7 years on active duty with the Rangers and 2 years with an SF guard unit. During my 2 year stent at the SF unit I also attended College full time. During this time I was surrounded by liberal crap. On a number of occasions I was forced to stand my ground on issues pertaining to the military not only to class mates put also to professors. Needless to say what I have learned from dealing with this sort of people for the last 9 years of my life is this. Liberals have a very tough time "thinking" on there own and tend to ride the "band wagon". So the best advice I can give is to stay the course and soon your teacher will have something else to rant about. When the wagon turns so will she.
