Damn I thought I'd be first comment, second place for lifeLooks great![]()
The Talon Hole on the guard is a Busse registered trademark on the butte of the knife it's for lanyards. He'll yeah man, nice knife, I think I'd even ask you for pointers but alas I don't even have a workspace yet. Responsibilities and whatnot, but I dream of making my own someday tookeep up the good work. Not sure what steel that is but it looks nice with that semi mirror finish not sure what the finish name is called. The grinds are nicely done too and I like how you rounded that corner bit at the start of the blade.
I did have a question though what is the purpose of the two holes at the base and hilt finger guards there? I noticed even my folding coldsteel has one and it just really makes me perplexed. In the beginning I thought maybe for a locking pin, but the knife still would have alot of moving room, and it doesn't come with a pin, now I see it on your fixed blade so it can't be for lockingso maybe you could help me learn something new?
Anyway sweet knife and keep up the good work![]()

Every Busse I stripped the last 12 months looked this clean
Now that makes sense, can't believe the thought never came to my mind. That's probably what the hole on my AD10 is too then. It's definitely not a lanyard holeProbably not the 1st thought with the guard & pommel holes, but they can also help to lash the knife firmly to a pole or branch, should you feel the need for a spear in a flash![]()

Thank you, I have to say impressed myself with how well it came out. I did a basic electro etch with a old laptop power supply and water salt vinegar combo. Used citri-strip to take the coating off. I used leather dye on the handle and it was a great deep black. Then I did a little bit of wet sanding with 320 (probably not necessary) . Then I hit it with green stroping compound on a bench grinder/buffer. I liked how the handle looked after the insedental buffing wheel contact so I went over the handle with buffing wheel to get more of that look ... first time I have seen this look on micarta but I like it...Here Comes all the "Please Sell it To Me PMs"
Looks Great. Love how sharp Busse Logo still looks, after the stripping.
