License Plate Search?

Does anyone know how or know someone to do a license plate search for me? My husband is a member of a motorcycle forum and I believe there is a big hoax going on trying to get people out to search for a person that isn't really lost.

Or..if you have any LE connections in Idaho or Montana please let me know if there is an actual search going on for this man. My husband and several friends are about to embark on a dangerous 12 hour ride to go look for this dude and I smell a forum rat.


To me, this smacks of that stupid brain tumor girl here a few years ago.
 
A quick google of "Donald Masters missing" finds only posts on motorcycle forum sites... no media or law enforcement sites.
 
Oh believe me I know. We have been researching this story all evening. Some things sorta check out and some just arent adding up. Now I just need someone "inside" to check it out.
 
The # was disconnected, so we looked up the correct Sheriff's office. A missing person's report was made but not followed up on, the detective was not there to speak to about why.
 
i just sent the info off the link to a buddy who is a state trooper. he might run the plate if he has time and i'll let you know what he finds out.
