I recently decided to pick up a Chris Reeve Sebenza Insingo with Micarta inlays as my work carry knife. I ordered the small version as a personal preference. I have been employed in the law enforcement field for the past 23 years and I also work part time as a Paramedic. I intend to carry this knife at both jobs and as my regular personal carry.

I chose this knife due to the fact that the insingo profile with micarta inlays caught my eye as a good carry option and Chris Reeve knives and their support is excellent. I thought about posting a thread here about this knife and the daily grind it will obviously go through in the two career fields I work. I will post regular updates on her as we travel along together day to day.

So far I really like this knife and I've only had it today since this AM. The blade profile is great and with the micarta inlays it just "fills" my hand better if that makes sense?

So I will bookmark this thread and occasionally post updates with pictures. There will be no deliberate abuse to the knife but good honest use in my fields. She will NOT be babied.

Thanks for stopping by :)

So I picked up the mail early this morning and after I opened the box what was inside? Another box but one of my favorite boxes to find!

Born during my birth month so we already have something in common :)

Packaged the usual way from Chris Reeve knives

And here she is! I know she might look like many others but she's mine as we start this adventure together.

Like I mentioned this will be my regular carry at both jobs so she WILL be getting some hard use but not deliberate abuse and I will post updates as we go along. These Reeve knives are great and I have no doubt she will perform fantastic!

Cheers and here we go! :very_drunk:

Awesome knife. I too am law enforcement (17 yrs.) and i carry the same knife. I'm a big guy but i prefer the small for pocket comfort. With all the gear we carry things can get a little cramped in the hip region and sometimes a larger knife can be a bit obtrusive in uniform pants. You're gonna love this knife and i bet you'll find the insingo blade is surprisingly useful. The lower blade tip is great for draw cuts and still enough belly to be a great slicer. The micarta inlays adds a touch of class but also fills the hand a bit and provides a great grip.
Enjoy you new knife and be safe out there!!!

Congratulations!!!!!
The micarta is my favorite inlay. Practical, but yet gorgeous.
I can see this is going to be a long, long thread.:D.....she will serve you faithfully and be dependable.

Thanks guys.
Shadow you're dead on about the gear. Less is more :)
Love this small Sebenza.

Sounds like a fun thread.. Can't wait to check back and see what use and interesting field pics you might show.

Nice idea. I'll have to appropriate it for my own thread this week when my small 21 shows up for duty in the pocket of a mechnanic.

Like the insingo and micarta. I went Plain Jane...even less mass and girth in the pocket. Was a little worried the micarta might be grippy and get "stuck" in the pocket sometimes like my BM556 does. Can't wait to see the life of another blue collar knife :)

Switched out the standard Reeve lanyard today for a different color and silver hardware.
Today she helped with an oil change on the car and some yard work.

Wonderful thread idea, and congratulations on a great EDC. I've never had a Small Micarta Insingo (though I should try it someday), but I've had a Large Insingo and a couple of other Large Micarta Inlays, so I can see how the combination would be nice.

I'll enjoy watching this thread develop. Stay safe, and thank you for the work you do!

Would love to see an update! I've been EDCing mine for a few years now and love it more than the day I got it.
