What are the odds of finding OT and UH Schrades without doing the Ebay thing. I have this aversion to the whole auction thing and am looking to find some NIB Old Timers to complete a display I bought that had only 3 of the seven knives left in it. I can find some around here, checking the old sporting stores, and True Values. I've bought six NIB schrades in the last several weeks but haven't been able to find any of the 4 I need. I've just never done the Ebay thing and really like to buy something without having to play the waiting game just to be outbid in the last 2 seconds... Suggestions / comments????

You can go to the stores section on e-bay and there are a lot of knives listed with buy it now prices. Some prices are good but others are really high. There are usually as many or more listed in the stores than there are in the auction section.

Snipe the auctions, and/or bid higher!!

sniping is basically coming in with a bid right before the auction ends, so that there is not enough time left for anyone to bid again...

Go to auctionsniper.com and open an account! It automatically puts in your bid in the last few seconds. It costs a little, but will save you hundreds (or more) over time.

The advantage of sniping has largely been eliminated since eBay started the automatic bid increases.

Proxy Bidding
The feature of an auction-style listing in which eBay automatically bids on the buyer's behalf, up to the maximum amount they set. Enter the maximum amount you're willing to spend on an item, and eBay will continue to bid incrementally for you until either you're the high bidder or your maximum is reached. This means you don't have to keep coming back to bid every time someone else places a bid.
