LifeProof cell phone case. GARBAGE !

Lifeproof,I don't think so.:roll eyes: So after spending the best part of a hundred bucks for this case about one year ago,this is the supposedly bomb proof case.
My 18 mouth old Grandson AKA (Tater Tot) handed me my I phone yesterday after fooling with it for a few minutes.:eek:

The recent cases are not much better, I've seen them for the iPhones and they are either unable to read the phone specs or extremely lazy in their manufacturing. Tater Tot - 1 LifeProof Case - 0
 
If I remember correctly, Pelican cases used to be warranted against everything except Grizzly bears, sharks and two year olds. :)
 
Little kids grow up to be soldiers -- who can wreck anything. Tater Tot is just practicing now. :D
 
Toddler proof is a step beyond life proof. Those little mini-mes could destroy an anvil with a rubber hammer.
 
Contact them and see what they do. I haven't met a phone case can survive y gentle treatment, good luck finding one that can survive a little kid. might be time to keep it out of reach.
 
I have had really good service with lifeproof. Mine have been iphone 4 and 5. My son has had to have 3 Iphone 5s cases replaced in the past year. My 5 case is still going strong. Seems like the quality really dropped after otterbox bought them.

are you positive that you have a genuine lifeproof case?




there are tons of fakes on amazon/ebay that are convincingly real. i fell for it the first time -- for months i thought i actually had a real lifeproof case, until i saw another gentleman with one and i could see tell-tale signs that mine was a fake by comparison.

at some point i sprung for a real lifeproof case and the quality was significantly better.

Yeah,you can call them and give the them the SS # and they can tell you if it is real. If it is they will replace it.
My BIL bought a fake one and hated it. I told him it was more than likely fake. He didn't believe me so we called,yep fake. You could not hear well out of it and it muffled your voice badly. He bought a real one and has not had it off his phone sense.He is a carpenter and is very hard on it,it needs replaced now but only after a year or so of abuse. His is the 5s case. IMO the 5 case is sturdier but you can't find them now. I think a lot of my sons problem is that he takes his case off and on a lot. I never take mine off.
 
I've had my Lifeproof for 5 months now, and other than the facts that it's only waterproof if I'm not charging it or using headphones with it, I can't use any headphones that aren't the Apple standard ones, and the screen cover makes some rainbow patterns on the screen, I like it a lot. very sturdy and has taken many falls onto concrete without any real damage. I guess not all cases are created equal.


 
Man, my original first gen lifeproof for my old iPhone 5 went to hell and back for Almost three years with exposure to my own tater-Tot (and paramedic school with daily purell baths -gross). Maybe the new ones are not of the same quality as the original $80 ones.

I know that somewhere along the way that Lifeproof was purchased by Otterbox!!!
 
The life proof cases are nice but the sound quality is terrible

I don't think they are designed to be chewed on

I have a pelican one now. The clip on the life proof is better but its silly how much they charge for them
 
I had a Lifeproof for my iPhone 6plus and 5s. Both were junk. Went with a Catalyst Case and it's way better all around. They are a little cheaper too if you get one of there coupon codes.
