Looking to buy an a new case that's waterproof for my phones. I have a samsung galaxy s4 and an iPhone 5s for my business. Want to put a case on both. What do you guys think? Any experience with the cases? Which is better?

I researched these cases inside and out when considering one for my iPhone 5s. Ultimately, I was disappointed with all of the cases' shortcomings, and didn't end up getting a waterproof case. Among the options, I prefer Lifeproof. They tested better, and seemed to have the one best feature - your phone is still functional whilst in the case. Not to say the Otterbox is not, but it is significantly more bulky to carry and use. For aesthetics and protection, as I couldn't stand the idea of having no screen protector like the Nuud, I came to liking the Lifeproof Fre the best of all of them. I've still considered picking one up on occasion, but fortunately haven't needed it yet. I'm sure someone who's used these cases will happily contribute, but these are the conclusions to which I came from my extensive research. Best of luck in your shopping!

Haven't used the Lifeproof but heard from a Verizon employee that they weren't very good. I've had an Otterbox Defender and most recently Otterbox Armor. For the 5 the defenders are nice...for the 4 , crappy due to the rubber sleeve stretching. Have had an AWESOME experience with the Otterbox Armor. If you can handle the bulk, it's nice and solid.

I have a lifeproof case and it sucks. For someone to hear me cmore clearly i have to open the "snap flap" the protects the recharging port. If you want to hear music you have to do the same deal as talking on the phone to hear the speakers at a more louder level than when completely closed, which can be a problem if you have a short or low ringer set on your phone. To hear someone i have to push the phone down on my ear to get the speaker as near to my ear drum as possible to hear more clearly, and while doing that my cheek presses buttons like threeway call and mute on my iphone 4. On the first drop the case cracked. The plastic screen gets scratched up so easily and thats from being in my basketball shots with my fenix next to it, normally i carry my phone in a belt pouch. Dont get me wrong if you want a waterproof case the life proof will do it for you but i dont know if you want to deal with the other possible negatives that come with this case. These things that i said are just what i have experienced other people may have different experiences.

the wirecutter keep a pretty good log of the top waterproof cases, and update it reasonably often. the simple truth is that all of the cases have a downfall. I've been very happy with my otterbox defender as an armor case for my galaxy nexus, but I'm on my third one (warranty from them is awesome.) any of the screen covers are going to scratch over time, the plastic is very soft to give any kind of resolution for the sensor. The best waterproof case I have is an otterbox 2000. Sucks for making calls out of, but to be honest there are some decent cheap blue tooth sets available, so thats an option.
beyond that, you can bag them, or pay for them to be sealed. Not sure how effective that is, or costs involved. rugged phones are not an easy thing to do.
