It seemed some people were doubting if the Cedar root I had used in my trap post yesterday would be strong enough to take a rabbit sized animal.
All though I was sure it would, before today all I could do was give an educated guess......that was before today !

This used to be a big hollowed out tree where you could graba quick dry break in heavy rain, looks like someone set fire to it so they had to cut it down !

You should do a video of the wigglin' dog on cedar root. I think it would be funny, especially if you kept throwing rocks into the woods.:D

And I will attest to having my doubts swayed in regards to the tensile strength of the cedar root. I never really had doubts, but its always a question on my mind when setting snares. Danke, Pit, and tell Snickers sorry for the embarassment, she was very intricate in the experiment. LOL

My mate who took the pic said we should try it with his Retriever, now that would be worth filming !!!:D

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA That's great!

+1 on video!

It's for a good cause though. Nice knowing the trap would work if need be.

Pit,

That picture of snicker hanging from the root is classic. You made me laugh with that one. Just the dogs posture scream "Dad, can you put me down now" Good stuff. Thanks for the laugh.

This will be very useful around Spring, when we have our annual Jack Russell infestation.

Pit, Did you have Snickers "paw" stamp a liability release not to hold you responsible in case the root broke ??? :)
That shot is classic. Thanks for the info on the root.
Be safe.

Always enjoy your posts! Thanks for sharing.

That sucks about the tree - but it does kind of look pretty cool. Seems like it would now be a good place for a fire pit in the middle and some friends to sit around on the stumps.
