has anyone seen/done any durability testing on these blades?

i am wondering how much the hollow grind has affected the strength of the blade.

Also, has anyone used one side by side with the original to compare chopping and cutting ability?

I have A LBTG and I will say I don`t see the hollow grind being a weakness like you might think, she is as stout and strong as you could hope for. I thinned and convexed the edge on mine, now she cuts great and when I chopped as hard as I could on some hardwood it didn`t bother the edge at all. I wish I had an original to compare.

I love beating my Gemini!!! I have batoned and chopped a LOT with mine and it's loved every minute of it.
Not one single complaint.
It's factory edge slices and chops better than the original's (IMO) but I still chose to knock the v shoulders down with 400 grit as the first step to a convexed edge.
It was not and is not "weakened" in any significant way. It was a pure performance enhancer adding the hollow grind.

mmmmmm......drunkin knife play. 2nd only to drunkin gun play.

Awesome picks!

Jerry knows how we use our knives. He does not release anything without extensive testing. Most likely to the point of destruction. It wouldn't be prudent, considering his warranty.

I've used my tglb pretty hard, spent a week with it in the colorado mountains as my main knife. I cut wood and split it for kindling, trimmed branches for shelter, used it to prepare food. I've done the same with the original tg they both work well, the tglb actually performs better. Only found one thing so far it sucks at, getting peanut butter out of the jar for a sandwich is not its best thing. Other than that its a really well performing all around blade.
