I thought I would share a little tip, I discovered while playing around with primitive fire lighting techniques. Its a timber that will get you a coal, when green.

Here is a video to explain. Watch it in 1080p by changing the 'cog' symbol at the base of the video.

On dial-up here and cannot view video. Could you possibly describe briefly the material and process in text or text/pic format?

Program youtube Video and Audio downloader will let you download videos while you sleep if you are so inclined, its also good for other people that want to save videos from Youtube to other devices.

It works on Mozilla... You likely can find other plugins for other browsers.

May help you some, I was stuck on 28.8k dialup until about 6 years ago when a ISp who provides regional service setup a wireless tower 20km from me, so I know the pain.

Thanks for suggestions, Phoynix. I have limited hours ... so perhaps a trip to wifi in town is in order. There are several pic heavy threads I also want to see.

Very interesting. Basically the guy cuts and makes a hand drill fire using standing green Lantana (which is very common as an invasive tree-weed where I live) The next time I'm out I'll give it a shot. Although, I think I'll take advantage of the springy nature of the wood, and use it to make a bow as well.
