Light scratches just above bevel

I can't see exactly what scratches you're talking about, but I'm guessing it's either the stone or the clamp.
 
Had this issue on a wicked edge… I think it was because the stones were new. Once they broke in I didn’t see it.
 
It doesn't take much to show visible scratches on a stonewashed blade (which this appears to be?). You may have inadvertently grazed higher than the bevel with your stones, either during sharpening or manipulation of the knife on the Work Sharp.

Not a big deal (to me) on a working knife. :)
