I usually have a bic (or three) on me. I have a Zippo, but just interested in something else.

What do you all carry/use? I have the feeling I'll always have a bic in the bag, but wan't another refillable.

Splitpea looks cool, great backup pack lighter.

The Jetlite is the kind of thing I was thinking about. I take it you are happy with it? Get a decent amount of time between refills?

I just use the Classic Bic lighters, but when I used to smoke years ago "Colibri" was a good brand name. I have seen some since then that get better reviews for outdoor usage. Like this...

S.T. Dupont Ligne 8 is my favorite lighter I own, but that is a pretty serious investment for a lighter. Brands like Colibri and XiKar make a fantastic variety of high quality lighters for a reasonable price. I have a XiKar EX lighter that has a windproof soft flame. Works phenomenally well for lighting cigars. Get the benefit of a soft flame, without worrying about wind (like a torch)

I use to carry a Zippo and a Bic as a backup. I never carry a more expensive lighter, because I could loose it...

A Bic never failed me anyways. But I like the Zippo because of its more classy look.

I carry either a cheap plastic lighter or a custom Ti peanut lighter I got in a trade.
Usually I carry the Ti lighter because I have broken the plastic ones in my pocket before.

Some of the places I go and some of the things I do I need hardware that can take a beating and still work perfectly.

Ad - I carry the same type of lighter as jwblack911. Mine is just plain Ti no heat anodizing and has a glow dot. Ti Survival does nice work.

ites milled from a solid piece of ti, compared to a zippo it doesnt light as consistently, however since it is sealed when closed the fuel does not evaporate. i am a smoker and use a mini bic for that, but when i dont have it on me or i need to use the ti lighter i know it will light because the fluid hasnt evaporated. and it is a pretty neat lighter. the inside is similar to a bic with a flint and a wick. and the flamed ti is different on every lighter. he also puts in glow dots into the cap so they glow at night. the glow dots i would never get practical use out of but its another neat feature

When I smoked, my favorite lighter was an IMCO Triplesx Super.

Windproof, doesn't evaporate (much) and you can pull the torch. Comes in handy sometimes.

IMCO is still in business making this 1936 design.

The Imco looks good.

Thought about Colibris for a while.

Was thinking about checking that auction site for some vintage ones.

Thanks for the responses everyone
