How many of you out there carry a lighter? What kind do you carry? My girlfriend bought me a colibri quantum and I was thinking of carrying it even though I don't smoke. It just looks like a neat gadget. Any feedback?
Thanks,
Matt

Zippo here, too. They always light in heavy weather. Got a titanium one about a month ago; it's noticeably lighter than stainless or chromed brass, although it scratches pretty easily.

I currently carry a Colibri. I used to carry Zippos but it always managed to leak in my pocket and cause a rash on my leg. I also stash a few Bics in my packs and cars as well.

This reminds me, I need to get more butane...

I carry a Vector Gear. It looks conventional, but its catalytic element gets about twice as many lights out of a volume of butane as a normal lighter.

I also carry a cheapo Bic.
It's a mini-Bic and it fits in the small 5th pocket of my pants perfectly.

It's always good to have fire with you!

Good luck,
Allen.

I have been through all of them over the years and (although I don't smoke) have found the mini-bics to suit me the best. My second favorite is the electric coil types of butane but I've not found one that was small enough and the various ones I had did not keep a charge long enough. I don't smoke so I go weeks without using one at times. The Bic is remains the best for me.

I used to carry a Zippo but it leaked in my pocket quite often, made my cigars taste like lighter fluid, and needed fuel all the time. For me, it's damn easy to beat a "clasic."

I have a Colibri butane job with a cigar cutter built onto the back of it. This lighter can sit unused in my toy drawer (I only smoke 2 or 3 per month) for weeks on end and then fire up a killer blue jet flame with a single click. Never fails. And re-filling just takes a second and is not messy at all.

Second choice would be one of the mini Bics.

I carry an anodized aluminum Windmill. It's a great little lighter, though a bit of overkill for its normal use (cigars).
