Any one have a Lightfoot 458 or 460Mag?They look to be a very well made robust knife but Its is rare to see any post about Greg Lightfoot knives here. I know they are not cheap as mostly over $400 but that doesnt seem to stop people buying Sebenzas so whats wrong with Lightfoot? Are they in the same league as CRK or what? They have a few nice looking models on the web site.

I had a 458 Magnum.

It was a great knife in every respect. I stupidly sold it and am in the process of buying it back. Greg is a very nice guy. That helps too.

I dont think people buy them because they are not readily available and most people are not huge fans of liner locks--they put a sour taste in many peoples mouths. I must admit, I use to be weary of liner locks until I got my hands on a nice emerson. Ive never handled one myself but I have always found they looked nice

I've seen those in 20CV, and BG42, and it seems like maybe something else. Which steels are those in?

Greg makes some nice fixed blades too. I've not had the pleasure of owning any of his folders, but have heard only good things.

I've carried this little fb for a few years and it's been a great companion. I think Greg is a master with the grinder. I really like the blade on this knife and the sheath is one of the best I've ever seen, kydex covered with Blue Shark skin.

GORGEOUS knife, I have really come to like his work, as well as Snody's and Lambert's. Problem is whenever I request information I seem to get blown off. This REALLY turns me off to a sale when this happens.

They are better.

By a mile.

Joe, most are BG-42, there was a KnifeArt exclusive MMA in 20CV, and recently Greg Lightfoot has also been using 19C27.

Here are the two I have, the top one is an X-HT Dog, the bottom one a 3LI exclusive MMA.

They are amazing knives, the blunt "subsonic" tips are actually very practical for EDC use, and the titanium frames are extremely thick.

About those subsonic tips. Anybody know why he only grinds the swedge on one side?
That asymmetry turns me off most of his designs - plus I don't like recurves much.

(Having said that, I've handled a few Lightfoots, and they are indeed solid knives.)

Thanks LorenzoL. Beautiful knives. I recall looking at a 20CV that someone had locally and was impressed with it all around. The price was good for the quality and materials in the knife.
