I bought my XM-24 used about a month ago from the exchange. The first thing that I did after I recieved it was #1 adjust the pivot, and #2 add a drop of Tuf-glide. Smooth as can be right? I thought so!
Today I dismantled the knife and discovered that the previous owner had used some sort of sticky grease (maybe gun grease?) to lube the knife. I cleaned all of the metal parts thoroughly with soapy water and dried them. Next added a light coat of Tuf-Glide to the pivot, and both Teflon washers. Wow what a difference! I thought it was fast and smooth before but now it is like lightning!!! I cant believe what a difference it made to a knife that I thought was perfect. If you bought a used knife definitely take the time to disassemble, clean, and lube your knife.
