Definitely an oxymoronic contradiction it terms ...yet this comes probably closer than anything else : The Cold Steel Colossus !
The reviewer reminds me of Joe Pesci !
This is NOT a knife you want to baton , especially hitting directly onto the thumb plate opener . Several reviews broke the tiny screw that way . Get a fixed blade or the 4 Max . Or maybe the Rajah 2 for the bushcraft/survival hard use .
How is this like a smatchet ? Surely NOT in huge size and pure heavy weight chopping and smashing potential .
But it does feature a very WIDE , leaf shaped , broad pointed , great slicing / slashing / shearing blade . The pistol grip puts the alignment just perfect for stabbing . Much better at that than I expected . The blade is relatively thin . The weight of the knife is only ~6.6 ounces .

This is not a heavy chopping blade , neither in the sense of a forward balance or in thickness/weight . The balance point is right at the front of the big finger groove .
The Colossus is somehow much bigger than it looks in pictures . I think because your brain assumes the width is like a normal folder . The blade also looks kinda short , but it's over 4" long . Being almost 2" WIDE fools the eye and makes the knife "special" .
I just received this weird , funky monster today and it's been a downpour all day . So I've only done some breaking in and slashing / stabbing at cardboard , so far .
I'm pleased and impressed with how it handles . No problems other than moderate (for a Tri-ad lock ) lock stick . That will "wear in " with use .
Main limitation of this knife is obviously for anything that needs a more acute / narrow point .
The handle is wonderfully warty / pockmarked and very ergo !
