Like a dumb@$$...using it for something it isn't intended for

So I'm working on a Suzuki LJ20V restoration project and, like an idiot, decided the BK2 would be able to pry the 41 year old kingpins off. I will say it did an amazing job by separating many years worth of rust, grease, oil and grime before snapping off the tip. I must admit, this is not the first time I have snipped off the tip of my blades...nor will it be the last, me thinks. :p

That'll buff right out, right? :D

Heck yeah!!! I can't wait to see what it looks like after you grind it!! Hats off bro, I have much respect for ppl that use their blades.

Send it to tradewater, he'll regrind it for you. (that's easily correctable, but it will never be that long again...)

Clearly you know you need a prybar too, but like breaking knives.
Nevermind a firesteel loop, how about getting a custom prybar with a sheath attachment so you can protect your factory knife tips? :D

I'll probably send it to Tradewater if he'd be interested in grinding it for me.

As far as prybars go, I had the mini out but couldn't quite get it between the gap. There may or may not have been copious amounts of adult beverages consumed prior to deciding that the BK2 would be fine in prying if I only applied a little up/down pressure. I definitely DON'T enjoy breaking my blades, but I do feel that a workhorse such as the BK2 DESERVES to be pushed hard. Maybe it's time to get a few widgy bars

Make a tanto out of it!
Heck yeah, Clip point.

Those are good ideas...got me thinking about a similar clip point to The Warrior's BK2 in his thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/939205-BK2-Mod-Clipped-and-Stripped-and-Striped-Oh-My!-%28Photo-Heavy%29 except perhaps a bit steeper of a drop, maybe a cross between tanto and clipped? Hmmm...beyond my abilities and tools but that might be cool!

Nice Suzuki. I have a Samurai, myself.
Thanks man. Congrats on yours Sami. I have two Samurai's and a Sidekick as well. Zuks are as addicting as Beckers!

First thing I though when I saw it, "Prying bolts.......and only lost 1/4 " of tip.......gooooood knife. Goooooood knife. He's a treat....."

Make a clip, it will he badass.

Beckers belong in the garage just as much as they belong in the woods. :D

The Bk11 has come in handy removing diff covers and king pin bearing caps a time or two.

Oh, and clip it!

i would put a proper prying tip on that and try it out :)

It's good that I have proper tools for doing those type of jobs. :o

I admire your willingness to tell us about it. :D
