It just so happens that one of my martial arts training buddies has a really cool and talented father. His dad used to make all kinds of toys and other items, but now he manufactures freakin' amazing paintball guns that you must check out! There are a couple of videos on the site too. I guess his dad invented one gun and made a bunch for peopl ehe knew, and they liekd 'em, so he started manufacturing them in a factory, and then he developed this wicked realistic looking line, and.. well, check it out for yourself!

The link worked for me. Sweet paintball guns. I don't play very often, but I'd love to step out on the field with one of those.

Hey Cray..

Man,,,,,,, are those things Frigging Awesome...

I was seriously surprised by the price as well... Not really all that bad considering what you are getting....

Pretty cool...

Thanks

Eric...

JClaude,

I haven't played all that much, but I agree that they look very sweet and would work quite nicely too!

Normark,

I think that the quality is really top notch too. It was weird- I was showing my friend knives on the net (been training him in stick and knife stuff, and now he wants a folder!) so he opens up this website! His dad is a real... oh... tinkerer I guess. Kinda reminds me of you actually. My friend's Dad used to make toys and all kinds of other things, and if I have the story correct, he made one of the speedball guns just to try to make one for a friend. They ended up being so good that he got his factory to make 'em! And then he designed the "tactical/realistic" looking pieces. He reminds me of you because you sound liek you took that approach with kydex. Hmm, how can I sheath this knife... little plastic, hadd some heat, voila! COOL! Hmm, now how can I make it better... what else can I sheath... yes, the cat does need kydex boots... :) I think that kind of curiosity breeds deep interest and a desire to produce quality.

Hey Cray...

Very cool guns...

Wouldn't mind one just to goof around with...

As for the sheaths.. Yaaa thats pretty much how it happened..
Many nights in the basement til like 3 or 4am,,screwing around...

Gotta work hard at whatever you do,, Eh...

Thanks Cray..:)

Please assure me that this toy was not made out of a functional AR-15!

If you do have to break my heart, can the rifle be returned to functional condition?

I really doubt it. The only parts that are probably real parts are the sights, the handguards, front sight base. It doesn't appear to have a real upper or lower receiver. Also with a MSRP of $499, I doubt he could make any money off it if he was cutting up actual AR-15's, which tend to start at $610 for something like a Rock River A2 chrome moly 20".

Eric,

Thanks from your buddy who has your custom 'Pacific Rim Bowie.' ;)

There are lots of upper and lower receivers out there, and the ones that I really know are the real Colts. Now, my buddy who has an FFL and a passion for legal Class III weapons tells me that 'mil-spec' is better than Colts ever were.

For all I know, the paint guns could be made from junk, rejected or worn out receivers and uppers. That's cool. But recently, a company made copies of the "Wanted Dead or Alive" Mare's Laig out of functional lever actions.

To me, it would be like deliberately dulling a Microtech so your son can play with his 'army men.' Sure, paint-ball is an exciting sport, but there are limits--or there should be.
