I have bought and sold off several knives over the last few years. I bought them thinking I had to have it only to get rid of it, then later buy a different version and like it.
Benchmade Mini Griptilian: Bought the GTX scaled and later the gray G10 only to realize I didn’t like the shape. I then bought the titanium limited edition and it just felt right.
Spyderco Native 5: Bought the FRN scaled and G10 scaled versions. I didn’t care for they way they felt in hand. I bought the fluted titanium and I want no other.
Same for the Spyderco military; I bought the G10 and flat scaled titanium models only to later sell them off. I bought the fluted titanium which is waiting at the house, so guess we’ll see.
Not exactly the same comparison, and at the risk of blasphemy, I prefer the Hinderer XM-18 slipjoint over the frame lock.
Anyway, any of you have the same experience with any that you own where you prefer a certain version over another of a particular model?
