Like the Leek's thin blade - non-AO alternatives?

I have a Kershaw Leek, and like the thin Wharncliffe blade and overall thin profile, but have decided assisted opening isn't really for me - what alternatives would you suggest (I've been considering an FFG Delica)?

Open it up and take the torsion bar out. See how you like the feel then. Just consider it a very enjoyable puzzle, and don't over tighten when you put it back together.

Also, The Spyderco Delica is amazing. Period.

the leek's torsion bar acts as the detent, without it the blade won't stay closed. :)

CRKT Eros very similar to a leek designed by Ken Onion as well. IKBS flipper is super smooth.

While were talking about CKRT, I've heard very good things about the Ripple. Very thin profile, and its got a bearing pivot system for butter-smooth deployment. I do believe it has a saber grind though, so if that's a deal-breaker for you than I guess you'll have to look elsewhere.

I do agree the Delica is a great knife that'll serve you well. If you are looking for something a bit smaller I'd go for a ZDP-189 Dragonfly II, and if you're looking for something bigger; go with the Endura. It's all personal preference, I'd suggest hitting up a knife supplier and getting a feel for the knives to see which one suits you best.

I've got a UKPK for small EDC. It doesn't have a lock, but has the thin and small thing down. It's also got a sharp point.

Good to know. I have a Needs Work that has a detent and can take the torison bar out. I was almost considering getting a Leek to do the same before reading this.

Kind of weird though, why would the Needs Work have a detent-ball, but not the Leek? They're both the same lockup aren't they?

The ripple and eros are both cool knives (especially the frame lock/Acuto+ version of the ripple) and being IKBS are super fun to flip with but neither knife has provisions for tip up or left hand carry and the pocket clip on the Eros just flat out sucks. Cool knives to play with and show off to your friends, but for EDC, where 98% of the time it'll be clipped to your pocket, CRKT really ought to put more consideration into their clip design than just how cool it looks...

Speedform II

Also - the leek does have a ball in the lock, so you CAN de-assist it, if you are willing to drill a detent hole for the ball bearing to engage.

The CRKT Eros is a neat little flipper. I had two of them. I say "had" because both had absolutely terrible lock rock. I bought a second one hoping I'd get a better pick of the litter, but no. It drove me crazy and I eventually sold them. The pocket clips were goofy but they worked fine. Also one had a very strong detent and the other had a much weaker detent. Both flipped fine, but CRKT's manufacturing process just ins't that tight in my opinion. I want to try a Ripple, but the Eros left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't bought anything from CRKT since.

Another knife to consider if you want a sleek blade is the Benchmade 707. It's almost identical in size to the Leek. It's the perfect small EDC blade.

Kinda pricey... but a Small Sebenza 21 with an Insingo blade is nothing short of perfection. Also nearly identical to the size of the Leek and 707.

Al Mar also makes some very nice sleek folders.

I think the crkt ripple is fairly nice, I tried the eros and didn't like it at all it just didn't feel comfortable. For kershaw try a skyline or something like that
