This has been in the works for a while and I findly got everything together last week. I loaded everything up and headed to Ron Duncans (magnum is his handle on pal talk) place about 2 hrs. north of where I live and after 2 long days of cutting and welding steel and standing around stratching our heads this is what we ended up with.
The beam is an H beam with 5/8" webbing and a 7/8" flange, it's weight alone is about 700 pounds, pump is 11 gpm and the cylinder is a 5" dia, with a 8" stroke, its a 25 ton press and we rigged up the hydraulics to be foot operated. It is really mean on Beer cans :D , tomorrow it gets to work on its first billet. I named it Leroy, because it is 1 big, bad ( heavy) son of a gun.
It sure is fun when you get another new toy. :D :D Thanks Ron for all your time , patience and work.

Bill, Leroy looks manly enough to do the job. I know it will work because it has the same pump and ram dia. as mine. Yu are going to love that "Bad Boy Leroy"! :D

Lucky Dog!!!!!
I can't wait to get mine set up.Man with a press and a hammer you will be kicking out Damascus like a fiend..;)
Congratulations,and great job,
Bruce

Wow, are you organized! It took me six months to get my press made, and it looks almost identicle (but my sweetheart is black, not green.) I went through about 30lbs of welding rod and two cylinders or oxy/actetlyne also! Your gonna love Leroy!

Bill, I certainly am happy for you that Leroy is completed and you're ready to squish some stuff. Kudos to you and Magnum for a well-done project. The addition of the hammer certainly elevated your work and I expect the press will do so again.

Just so you don't get into a thang for crushing cans and find a compulsion to create empties...hehehe.

Have fun, my friend...I'll be by soon with a hunk of cable in hand!:D
