Does anyone know how soon we might see an affordable chopper for sale though any of the 3? I am considering setting aside 200-300$ in case of a swamprat or scrapyard large chopper but I don't really see a point in it if the next chopper will probably be 4-12 months away.

I see some Scrapyard Dogfathers on the exchange every now and again. They are usually $200-$250

Look for a Basic 11. You can get them for just over $300 on the exchange. It's my go to chopper.

Any idea which company? I can't afford a 500$ busse.

Not saying that he didn't talk to Boss Hogg, but 2 weeks is the offical answer to everything. So 2 weeks from now it might be another 2 weeks and so on and so forth.

As for a big Bussekin chopper, there are older models that pop up on the exchange in the price range you're looking for. Dpgfathers, Chpweilers (spelling?), etc.

Ohh, if you can make a gun and knife show where Busse has a table, the B-11's list for $297. If you like them.

The Scrapizashi is still available. I suggest getting one asap as that style blade will chop extremely well with its extra length. Not to mention that it's $100 - $200 cheaper than the closest Bussekin alternative, and could very well be the toughest of the short swords at the same time.

The simple truth is none of us knows anything. You might speculate that Swamp Rat is 'due' as they have not had a big chopper in some time, but even if Eric knew that a new knife was coming he wouldn't tell anybody. So, in the the Busse universe, it usu sally does not make sense to save your money waiting for something to come along. Look at how long the Muk fans have been waiting.

Your best option is to choose from the secondary market. The selection and prices are better than they have been in years. I can't believe the deals available. Wish I had money. :grumpy:

For $300 you could have a B11, and might be lucky to score a bargain on a BWM.

Oh HELL YES! Great Advice, I took it myself and now I don't really care about any other choppers.

It seems like there is no answer to be given, wait it out I guess.

The rules don't require this .... only that the sale is legal ... if you can verify you are old enough or otherwise able to legally own the knife you want to buy then that should suffice .... especially in today's climate where buyers are fewer ....

If you cannot get what you want send me a PM .... the HOG way is to look after new guys .... I will do my bit to help .... all of mine are "users" though .... so if collecting is your bag you will need to bear that in mind .... and good luck finding what you want

Actually I want a user because I can get more knife for cheaper and maybe not feel so bad about using it. As far as buying, I got carded in walmart buying a knife and you can buy if you are 16 or older so I am pretty sure It's legal unless walmart is allowed to sell knives early.

It's true that some folks add that bit of legalese to their sale thread, but I don't know why. I don't think there has ever been a discussion as to why a seller might want to or feel the need to add those restrictions. <shrug>

Since the majority of sellers don't restrict in that way, I would imagine you can shop the Exchange.

I add that stuff in about the seller making sure they are of legal age and in accordance with carry laws of their state...

Logic: If God forbid something happened with the related knife I sold and it was illegal to begin with, I may be held liable - regardless of the odds of this happening, unfortunately I figure its better safe than sorry in this day and age.. Sorta like "contents may be hot" or those silly confidential rants on the bottom of emails.
