First of six (nearly) identical knives, profiles the same only the mammoth & spacers differ.

Thunderforge damascus #1 twist, 1/8th stock, mosaic pins (yes, both of them! Stoopid camera ) mammoth scales with spacer. 5 1/4" o/all, 2 1/2" blade, convex grind, etched in sodium persulphate

LMK what sheath you guys think please, thanks

P.S. it's a little heavy on the handle, go figure  , d'you think I should taper the handle on the others?

There is something that looks unfinished about this knife. You are right, the handle is too thick. As it is, this knife looks like it needs a guard or bolster. Maybe if the handle was thinner this would not be the case, I am not sure.

I think a pouch sheath with about half to two thirds of the handle sticking out would work well.

Thanks Kieth, appreciate the feedback.
Yeah, I think that the handle material doesn't help the "unfinished" look either (stoopid mammoth:grumpy: ) perhaps I'll try some of my interior stuff, taper the tang & use black spacers? Maybe?

Colin,
Can you post a side view of the knife please? I'm curious to see the total package. I love the profile from what I can make out of it.:)
Thanks!

All the best,

Hi Mike,
Yeah, I can, & will post a side view (can't guarantee that the pic will be any good (stoopid camera;) ) I tried to make it look a little like a derringer butt, but the bark kind of changed it (I may, in the future produce some with a carbon or stainless blade & buffalo scales, waddya think?)

BTW, won't be able to post pic till @ 10 hours time, work:rolleyes:

I'd best start to look at my picture techniques I think:o

I think the combination of the mammoth bark and the damascus pair nicely. It might be a little thick in the handle, but hey, on a small knife that can be a good thing. A nice simple knife with a touch of elegance by the use of spacers and mosaic pins.

I imagine the new owner of that knife will be well pleased with it.

BTW,
I agree with Keith about using a pouch sheath for it and tapering the tang always looks good on a full tang knife.;)
Thanks for sharing Colin!

All the best,
Mike U.

Thanks Mike, I think I'll try some buffalo & white spacers on one, just for the contrast, that'll make 3 with interior mammoth (tapered tangs) 1 buffalo, 1 green bark (it really is the most georgeous mottle colour) & this one, untapered, & I think I'll add another four in various handle materials in D2, how's that sound?

Sounds like a winner to me. I have a hard time trying to stick with making the same model or blade profile over and over. I wanna take that model and make each one different, just like what your planning. Keep up that great work!

All the best,
Mike U.
