I liked my Galyean JYD II Serrated so much, I got it a li'l brother! I picked up a plain-edge JYD (small framelock) at a really good price today - I have trouble saying no! I was in the gun/knife shop to pick up some Tuf Cloth for my knifes (works well, btw) and ended up with this even though I said "no more kershaws till the Zings!" Oh well, the best-laid plans...

I think rather than posting my impressions of this knife now (as I've had it for like... 8 hours?) I'm going to focus on using my small EDC knives heavily the next few days, and do a group comparison. These are quickly becoming my favorites - small, relatively simple liner/frame/backlocks under 3" seem to be the most useful to me. I will say, this one has ABSOLUTELY no problem shaving hair... out of the box!

I'll post a few more of these macro group shots in one of the photo threads...

the saga continues!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

anyone know what the air force markings on this knife are? Are they vinyl, laser-etched? Can they be removed? I'm not real fond of them but really like this knife...

Does anyone know why the etchings are there? Are the supposed to suggest that the JYD was made from airplane parts found in the scrap pile?

I just dont really get it...

Wow, that's a nice polish job. No good for tactical, low visibility operations anymore though. ;)
