I don't know what it is with these little guys, but I've seen a handful posted in the last month or so, and after seeing Petr's lil' chopper (on dfoggs forum), I decided to join in. So here's my little kitchen pepper.
Forged from 1084, curly maple handle, with brass pins.
The bevels were sanded to 320, then given a light aging treatment to make it look in place right off the bat. I rubbed the bevels down with a rag dipped in ferric, then rubbed them with scotch brite. Then to finish it off, I put some drops of hot sauce on it, and put potatoe slices on it. Let it sit, then wash, then scotchbrite off the rust. Not heavily aged, but a little "pre-staining"
6 3/4" oal
3 1/2" blade
What do ya'll think of my quickie kitchen chopper?
