Lil Native - compression or backlock

I quite fancy a Lil Native as something a little smaller than my PM3 LW but more substantial than my Dragonfly. I like the locks on both, so not sure which version to get. Any thoughts?

I'll be looking for a matching Slipit version if they ever make it to the UK.

I would go backlock. I have the complock SE. if I had it to do over I would have gone backlock.

I always go with the back-lock over the compression lock. Truly ambidextrous, better ergos (no hot-spot), can be operated in thick gloves, IMHO stronger too, and last but not least, stronger detent, so the blade is less likely to open in your pocket.

While I have both (plan to get Slip too) the Comp lock works the best for me personally! I have XL-XXL Sized hands and use the Lil Native comp with Mechanix lightweight gloves, With no problems. I can't say enough good things about how versatile and stout the LN is in use! I call it my Spyderco utility/box cutter. I carry multiple knives daily, But the Lil Native is ALWAYS with me.

Backlock is a superior lock. Much less likely to accidental opening. Ambidextrous.

I would also go with the backlock, I have had both and sold my comp locked knives.

I don't know why but I just like and trust the true and tried old backlock more.

I prefer the compression lock on the Lil native, smaller the knife the more I like the pinch and close.

Really no wrong answer to the question, buy both.

If you like s30v or want to put a lanyard on it - lockback. Otherwise, compression.

Personally, I'm right handed, so ambi isn't a big concern for me.

Comp lock lets me fidget with it. Back lock is stronger and minimize any worries about it opening accidentally.

The design of the Native / Lil native means that both are easy to close one handed. That was one of the reasons why I liked the Native design. I'd prefer it over even the Enduras.

I have owned the Lil’ Native in both the back lock and the compression lock version. I still own the back lock. I got rid of the compression lock.
