Hi Steve,

Well like the title says I have a Lil Temp in distress. I received it in a trade and can tell it was well loved. It has no pocket clip, some of the scale screws are stripped/stuck, and the blade is really scratched up. A bag of new screws and a pivot was provided by Spyderco customer service so no worries there:)

The scales are in good shape but since I'm sending it in I would like to try something new, I saw this "Rescued" Lil Temp a little while ago and thought it looked great. I would like to thin out the handles a bit and at the same time add some texture.

Found over at the Spyderco forums here: http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30699

If there is any way you could do something similar that or some other kind of grip inducing mechanical detail that would be sweet!

Aside from that I was thinking a fresh bead blast to the blade, and a new pocket clip.

Sound like fun?

Sounds worthwhile yes. Whatever the guy that did that used for the grooves must have been a pretty narrow cylinder compared to mine. I can do something like that but the diameter of the half moon grooving will be bigger.

As precise as that is it almost looks machine done like it came that way or was done by some kind of CNC technology which I don't have.

Nice though.

Thanks for sharing it here.

I'm already into Feb for most big jobs I think and have some work to do once I get back to the shop but feel free to mail at your convenience my friend. I'll let you know when it arrives and get to it in order. I think you know the routine for mailing so whenever you are ready I am.

Happy new year!

Sweet  I'll mail it soon, no worries on the ETA I have a new Lil Temp to keep me busy, and my first Dodo should be on it's way shortly.

Gullwing says he used an 1/8" ball bit to do the grooves, a little bigger is cool though.

Have a great new year!
