Just curious. Anyone out there who is carrying one; have you done any damage to yours yet? If so, how, what were you doing?

Around 5 months of using mine everyday and no problems. Haven't even had to tighten the pivot screw yet. Only maintenance was one sharpening on the Sharpmaker. After repeated opening and closings it is extremely smooth and tight. No horizontal or vertical blade play. Still haven't decided what blade shape I prefer yet.

The Lil' Temperance Leaf Point is available online at ShopLite.com. If for some reason they're out, the Spyderco Factory Store should have em, just keep in mind that the SFO prices are anywhere from half again to twice as high as you're likely to find elsewhere online.

Played with a trailing point all evening that showed earler up on the big brown truck. Lockup is TIGHT. Blade action is very smooth and very sharp. The lock was a little rough at first but is smoothing in nicely.

The one thing that bummed me is that the edge is ground with a much steeper bevel on one side than the other. Not a real functional problems, but not something that I have encountered in any of the other Spydercos that I have had. Should be easy enough to re-grind, but the tip is thin enough already and I hate to take much metal off to reprofile it.

The compression lock is interesting. This is the first one that I have actually had a chance to handle, and while it is taking a my liner-lock trained fingers a little getting used to it sure looks hell-for-stout and I can't imagine how you could accidentaly release it.

Overall a very interesting knife. Can't wait to find a leaf-blade version. Now that I have seen the compression lock in the flesh I am tempted to pick up a Vesuvius <spl?> also.

I've had a trailing-point for little over a month now. I'm very happy with it.

I just picked up a spear-point Lil' Temperance over the weekend, but the fitting of the scales seem not quite as good. It seems to have a wee bit of vertical and horizontal play. When open, you can see a tiny bit of space between the blade and the G-10 scales. I'm gonna find meself a correctly size torx bit tomorrow and see if I can tighten it up a bit. Otherwise, I may just need to send it back to the SFO for a bit of adjusting - which would be a shame because I'm really loving the spear-point blade. It's quite sweet.

If you're getting some up/down blade play, you might want to get a Q-tip and clean the blade tang and the lock itself. Sometimes they have some oil on them and that makes the lock give just enough to have some minor play.
