I would appreciate it if anyone who owns a Lil' Temperance could help me out here, I'd like to know how pocket-friendly the clip is and how the knife locks up. Thanks.

I have found the Lil Temperance clip to be quite gentle so far, but I've only had mine for a few weeks.

The Li' Temperance has one of the best lock-ups yet, and one of the strongest to.

The clip is damn strong, grips the pocket like a vise, but I haven't noticed any pocket wear yet.

If the clip is to "tight" you can always slightly bend it out. Remove the clip first. No need to put added stress on the screws.

The lock up on both of mine is strong and positive. I could go on and on about how great the Lil' Temperance is but I'm lazy....so I'll refer you to an old review of mine. It's much more in depth.

If you do a search of his forum you will some very good reviews out there w/ a lot of info.

Let us know what you think if you get one.

I really love mine. It has the leaf point blade and I did as has been suggested, i removed the clip and bent it a bit so that it would have a touch less pressure on my pocket. It hoes not seem to chew up my pockets as others have indicated of theirs. The compression lock is so tight that it is near unbelievable. It may look like a backwards liner lock, but it certainly feels a lot tighter and sturdier.

M@thew,

I agree that the lockup is superb, with mine showing no
vertical blade play.
The clip is substantial and stiff, but I expect it to loosen
up in time. My main complaint with the clip is that so much
of the handle is showing out of the pocket, particularly the
angular end of the handle, which serves as the thumb rest.
The opposite argument is the easy retrieval out of the pocket
which this clip placement affords and the marvelous ergonomics
of the handle, including the thumb rest.

I agree with all the comments made here. My Lil Temperance is the equal of any knife in this price range. The G-10 scales are particularly well done. The clip has chewed up the edge of my waistband. I should remove it, round the edges, and bend it a bit i suppose.

With the clip in factory form I couldn't have done more damage to my pockets if I'd have used the blade on them  Bending the clip out some helped a bit, but the final answer was to polish the rails. This, combined with the fact that I no longer take it out of my pocket 97 times a day to look at it, has helped to alleviate the problem. The one flaw in an otherwise nearly perfect knife!

After I read TOTS’s tragic post about LT chewing-pants clip I have removed mine and rounded it’s pretty sharp edges with sandpaper simultaneously polishing the surface contacting with pocket fabric.
No problems more!

Since the first complaint about the clip chewing up pockets, we changed the mfg procedure and have not had any problems since.

We appreciate the input.
