Hey, all,

I've gotten a lot of info from this board in the past, so I figured I would post things from time to time that might be useful for others.

I love my new Temperance, but it was a bit difficult to get out of my pocket quickly; the clip is tight, and the milled out section of the left scale is pretty smooth.

Sure, you could loosen the clip, but then the actual grip doesn't feel as solid. The large clip is perhaps more integral to the grip on a knife this small, and loosening the clip has a much greater effect than it does on, say, a Chinook or an Endura.

Instead, I put some skateboard grip-tape on the left scale. I know: that covers up the indexing "divots" on the scale. Still, I've found that I only tend to use the middle divot when switching grips, and I suspect that most people will only tend to use one set of holes on the scale and clip depending on their hand size.

A piece of grip tape cut out to match the milled-out section on the scale works wonders getting the knife out quickly, and it only covers the first divot; since I tend to use the middle divot every time, it doesn't interfere with manipulating the knife at all.

Hope this is helpful to those who like the Temperance as much as I do.

Hi Ben. I bend the clip out slightly so it's tight enough to slight a piece of paper under the clip and have the clip grab the paper, but still slide the paper in and out. We make them tight so people won't lose them. the ELU bending the clip carries the responsibility from us to the ELU.

Sal,

Thanks for the reply! Usuallly I *do* bend the clip on my knives, but I didn't like how the clip felt when I tried it on my Temperance.

On the other hand, I like to tweak my equipment, so maybe I was just looking for a reason to mess with my knife!

Thanks for a great design, by the way. The Temperance is the most innovative and useful folder I've come across at any price.

Ben
