I have a couple LILE folders that my father gave me... I believe he got them back in the 70s or 80s. Both are lockbacks with LILE stamped on the blade and quite heavy.

One has a 2in blade, is all steel with some decrotive etching, and what appears to be a duck near the end of the handle.

The other has a 3in blade and has some sort of horn or bone liner.

I'll post up some pictures if there is any interest but I was mainly looking for my information on the knives such as what type of steel was used, when they were made, and a general idea of their monetary value. Thanks

blade steel is almost certainly D2. Are the handles slabs or 'interframe'? frame material is usually nickle silver, sometimes stainless. I sold a 3" interframe ez-open (wood inserts) for $400 recently. They're great knives, Jimmy was one of the pioneers of the industry, but the market is limited (or appears to be) simply because (I guess) fewer people are familiar with and lower demand for lile knives. Have to find some old time collectors interested in some history. I have several, I used to stop by his shop in Russelville years ago, and feel lucky to have met him.
