Hello,

can you please tell me something about this Civilian modell?

On the edge is the number 084!

When was this knife produced? How many pieces?

It is an older aluminum civie.It has krayton inserts and should have a pad of kraton under the clip.Fron your pic it loos as the handles are polished.They should be coated with Tuffram a light greenish coating.I belive that spyderco numbered the first 1000 of the run.I could be wrong on some of the info but someone who is more knowledgeable will correct me.
 
As rycen poited out, the handle should be covered with greenish coating (at least mine is). However, I think someone somewhere mentioned a very limited batch that got out of the factory without the coating. Or am I dreaming stuff up again? Not sure.

I have no idea what year these were made, but would love to know...

As mentioned, some initial-run Civilians were produced without the Tuffram coating on aluminum scales. I consider it to be the rarest of my Civilians. I cannot remember how many were released, but rest assured these do not come available often.
 
Thank you for the answers. But I still hope that some of the Spyderco guys can tell me the exact number.
 
The spyderco collector club has 200 members. I would assume that is how many were made. If you are interested in selling this knife, I would be interested. Thanks, Ron.....
 
There weren't 200 collectors in the club when that on was made, but I tell you that all are not numbered...like the one I have
