Lime patina

Hi guys, I thought I'd share this.
I decided to force patina to my Von Tempsky bowie by Svörd and discovered the power of lime. Here's how the knife looks like brand new:

I don't know what kind of "coating" or effect there is on the blade originally, but it stripped the whole thing off. I also added a littlebit of "effects" or stripes to he blade after patina.

I decided that I want the guard to match the blade, and gave it a rough look by sanding it a bit:

These kinds of blades are such joy to use.
They don't look too pretty to look good after use, but still appeal to me.
 
Very nice! I've never used lime, opting instead for a 50/50 mixture of apple vinegar and cold blu. I've also used a mustard "effect" coating before soaking in apple vinegar. That works nice too.

Good job. I'll have to try some lime.......

Very nice looking especially live.
Noticed that the bowie pic is a bit dark and doesn't show detail that good.. ah well.
