limited 916 handle vs. standard with pics...

jbm, thanks for the photos and attention getter on these custom knives. DM

yes Sir.

this limited has a handle size every 916 should have come with. it was pricey for a guy like me, but worth it to have the 916 with a useable handle size. im pretty happy i jumped in.

That jigged buffalo handle looks great both in appearance as well as how it would fit the hand. Great looking knife. Actually they both are great looking knives but I really like the buffalo handled one more.
The added pommel looks great as well.

Now that's a knife! Handle on the standard model looks suitable for a butter knife but no Bowie should be seen with that little stick attatched to it.

yep. agree completely.

id like to see the 916 be modofied to a 917 with a thicker wider and longer tang to match the blade better. a using version vs. a collectible/wall hanger/show piece.

A bowie is the one kind of knive that I've never owned or used. .I was looking at the pictures of buffalo horn LE and decided right then that this new year coming I'm going to seek out one and try it. Frankly I seldom need a big knife a 110 or even a 301 does just about all my cutting needs now and I do have a 620 and a 653 in each of my cars but there is just something cool about them..This summer I got interested in the collectable big knives made in San Francisco in the 1850's and in that era. I looked at auction results and did a little research on the original Bowie knives and the one thing that got my attention was how many people used them every day. When I first got my Pig sticker (651) I played with it for hours. .
