Not a review, just pics and a thought or two. I received it two days ago from a pre-order and haven't seen any other info here.
Not sure what purpose this will serve for me, I mostly thought it looked cool and always wanted a CS Leatherneck to use as a "Soldier's knife." This version is way too long for that though.

I wish it was a bit thicker because of the amount of leverage the super long blade can produce. And I don't personally consider these designs full tang, so overall, I wish this knife was more robust. At least it's not too heavy and will be a better slicer. Enjoy the pics!

Thanks for the comparison photos. Until now I hadn't appreciated just how big the CS Leathereck L/E really was.

Yes it's huge, which makes it fun to just hold and fool around with. The normal Leatherneck is listed as full tang where this one is not. I'm assuming it has the same construction but haven't confirmed. Size and construction make this mostly a novelty. I think it looks cool, and they're pretty cheap.

That is certainly one nice looking knife.

They really did do a great job with the visual design.

I'm racking my brain for a practical use I might have for this thing. It's length and weight are almost like a short machete. Maybe searching for fatwood or clearing brush from choke points on jeep trails.
I guess it's a fighter pattern, but the saber grind and V edge might not be ideal for that either.

I never realised it was a 10.5" blade... visually a nice knife and happy they didn't make the handle "offset" from the center like original Kabar.
It's not just D2, it's "German D2" so that's automatically better lol

IDK . For most buyers , probably a collectable / display piece . Looks cool enough ! :)

Lots of old school Ka-bar style lovers out there . So why not a supersized version ?

Heck , I'd sure try it out, if I had one . Might be a decent chopper ?

The Trailmaster has worked fine for me .

Wow - wasn’t aware of this one but it’s quite wicked - like it a lot!

Not overly heavy for the size either…

I like it, saw one on ebay. Would love to do a leather stack handle on it. It is a little thin but still could be a serious blade.

In my opinion, the thin stock and half tang was a big missed opportunity by Cold Steel. For $3 worth of extra D2 and grinder time, they could have created something with beauty and brawn that still had good balance. They scaled up everything except what gives it strength.

Yes, the tang is full length and full thickness. But the width of the tang looks to be a little more than half the width of the handle, and straight. I'm nitpicking I guess, but when I think of a stout full tang beneath an enclosed handle, I think of the Falkniven A1 or a Garberg. Those tangs much wider and contoured to the maximum width of the handle. Again, I'm nitpicking, and this is not over molded like those knives. I'm sure it's plenty strong.
