Limited edition or not? On ebay..

Seen several Red/black checkered Enduras on Ebay..There listed as limited edition..Is this true?..Bogus?

They are real, or at least red checkered Endura's were produced. I saw scans of some here about a year ago. Now I don't say that to garauntee that the ones you saw on e-bay are genuine; but there are knives such as you describe out there. Hope this helps.
 
From what Mr. Glessar told me in a previous thread, the checkering was not done by spyderco, but was an aftermarket modification.

They are neat though, but I don't think they're that rare since there are at least 5 on Ebay every week

Hi Endura Duck,

Spyderco never produced the C10 Endura with checkered colored handles. We did make them with solid colored khaki green and red handles. Both handle colors were discontinued in 1996-1997...What you found is probably an aftermarket addition or imitator.

Really obscure half-non-answer. A place with either "Smoke" or "Mountain" did them. Do a search on 'red enamel' or something. They are aftermarket, but supposedly well done.
