Guys:
My son-in law is going into the Navy. For Christmas and for a going away gift I bought him this limited edition silver moutaineer. It's a nice piece! I hate to give it to him but I feel that he is going off to serve his country and he deserves the best! I can't wait to see the look in his eyes when he opens it on Christmas! Anne, I didn't know about these, how many were made? I believe that they are only silver coated. Can they be restored like the other one piece knives? I bought it at Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, California. Sorry guys but this was the last one they had. Get your bibs on because you are going to drool over this baby!

That's a great gift Scott Dog! Don't forget your Brother in Hawaii if you have any other knives you'd like to give at Christmas.

We made just a couple of silver knives - just for variation! Life can get dull if you always do the same thing!

The silver coating is made by Kalgard, the same folk who make the charcoal black that we use on all the fixed blade knives. If anyone wanted a silver knife, we would be more than happy to make one!

What about re-Kalguarding an existing One Piece? I have an Aviator that would look too cool in silver.

Now, be forwarned, you may be starting something that you can'yt finish. I can see red, green, blue, magenta, etc, etc. Kinda like the aluminum flashlights that were so boring in basic black.

Remember Chris, the Model "T" was popular in black, then they ofered colors and look where we are today!

How about two tones? Keep the blade and pommel cap silver and the handle black. That will look devastating.

Or maybe a tiger stripe pattern like what Striders did?

You realize, of course, that now, I'm going to have to get a larger display case to hold all of the silver blades when they come in.

Not yet....I still have to get them on order, but I will! (Can't be a full line CRK dealer without all the variations.)

If you folks keep this up I'm going to have to get a bigger store.

, please understand that the colors available for aluminum flashlights are arrived at by an anodizing process (quite different from anodizing titanium), and the process we use for applying the Kalgard is different again. Kalgard make a limited color selection that is suitable for our knives and some of the ones we have tried do not look good at all. I rather think that the color choice is going to be limited to "Model T" black or silver on request!!
