Another thread plus the 20 made me wonder...if KA-BAR was to do a limited edition sprint run of the 15 and call it the 15.5, what would you want the variation to be?

I'd like an additional 0.5" - 0.75" on the handle. And maybe fancy wood scales.

D2, dressed in Stag yea a little old school
want

D2 or other modern stainless

regular handles

i'd want 12

don't need sheaths

steak knives

but i'd want a FINE GRIND :D

D2, polished, fancy handle options. Oh, and $39.99 MSRP.

Longer, thicker handle to fit us people with normal sized hands.

Uncoated O1, A2, or 52100 steel, a simple leather pouch sheath, and two tone micarta scales either shaped a little thicker or with liners.

Since KaBar has used S35VN that'd probably be more realistic than the other steels I listed.

Good suggestions, s35vn, thicker handle, 3/16" blade thickess, black micarta scales, $39.99 msrp.

Could kick myself for not getting an extra for cheap when had the chance. Hopefully something similar will surface someday. Ssss $ss😆😑

i've a good sized mitt, larger than "normal"... so what's normal for you is ...

Designed to fit Ethan - who has size ginormous feet and bigger hands.

German Yeti? :D

Scottish. ;) From the Gunn clan. Me ancestors were Vikings.

I've seen enough pictures of your mitts to say I think your Gunn side may have spent a little time breeding with ogres.

S35VN would be pretty sweet with some slightly larger handles for those of us that aren't half breed giants.

My heart palpitated at the title, 15's my everyday fave. Then noticed it wasn't official kabar or Ethan who originated the thread. Then depression set in. (Sorry, DunkEm, wasn't your fault, I just love that blade)

Not sure if I'm adding more than has already been suggested, so I'll divide it into "reality" sprint run and "fantasy" nano-sprint run for a pseudo production knife.

"Reality"
-a stainless or semi stainless blade steel Kabar has been known to make, sv35 or D2. Stonewash finish. Very nice.
-same handle but with a set of custom liners that could be stacked to fit. (Kind of like modular pistol blackstrap idea) a unique handle color that complements the Stonewash would be nice but not required.
-a sheath that can fit the custom liner stack, I figure the custom sheath folks can accommodate people who want more.
-stainless hardware
-optional: A custom steak block by TommytheWho to hold a quantity of these for Bladite. With his Avatar logo on it. ;)

"Fantasy"
-same as above but upgraded handle material & gatorwrapped kydex by Julio.
-A touch of decorative engraving, Fisk style.
-Jerry Fisk'd convex light saber grind. So fine, like accidental cold fusion sharp fine.... Oh yeah....
-Personal delivery by Ethan & Jerry accompanied by the Swedish Bikini Team (SBT), that's as good as it gets; hold the Old Milwaukee...
-Optional: Full Beckerhead gathering at delivery to celebrate this at a ranch in Texas that runs helicopter hog hunting, full rock and roll (with SBT hosting)

Is that too much to hope for?

I hate that people seem to keep coming back to the "Best steak knife" comment on the 15. Its sooooooo much more than that, and I wouldnt in a million years trust a steak knife to do what I have put my 15 through. Its really a survival knife, pre Rambo build a fortress and trench with your knife movement.

I had the same reaction as above. I was very excited at the thread title and ready to jump on kabar's website and place me some orders.

Ka-Bar with both Ethan's and Jessie's help will have a substantial windfall

If they choose to listen to the buying public
All they have to do is listen to what u all want,
Choice of Steel
Choice of Finish
Choice of edge
Choice of Handle material
Choice of Liners
Choice of etching
if under 150 us, for a true order knife may sell more than they expected
My 2 cents anyway as custom work worth the cost

Bladeforum sprint knife? Lots of work and voting. Of course there would need to be a champion. And probably 500 units or so prepaid. And someone to pack and shop. Not to mention the fun of people backing out.
