It always strikes me as a little odd to announce unveilings ahead of time, but the June issue of Blade magazine mentioned that Cold Steel is going to debut a special edition of the AD-10 at Blade Show next month. It has an all-titanium handle and a CPM-3V blade and production will be limited to one thousand pieces. MSRP was listed as $280, which struck me as fairly reasonable (though I may be developing sticker-shock numbness in response to the ravages of runaway inflation!).
A small photo was included, and the knife looks great. The only potential downside is weight. The knife weighs as much as a 4-MAX Elite at nine ounces! That might be a deciding factor for me about buying one. The AD-10 pushed the 4-MAX out of my pocket because of its lighter weight. Still, a ti-handled, special-edition AD-10 might be cool enough to own regardless of whether I end up carrying it.
I'm not going to Blade Show this year. If anyone here does, please pass along some good pictures of the new Cold Steel items at the Cold Steel/SOG booth (yes, GSM is combining the brands in a single spot again).
