I am fixing to purchase either a BMLE or a ASHLE and cannot make my mind up which one. Can anyone that might have both give me an idea which one they like the best or which one they would buy if they were gonna buy just one.

I want both and have to settle for one now and the other possibly in the future when funds are a little better.
 
i assume you mean the fbmle?

i dont have one, but had a cgfbm. they are two totally different knives. and the fbmle is quite a bit more expensive.

if you want a chopper, the fbmle is the way to go.

i really like the ashle, i think it will make a great all arounder camp knife.

The 2 you mentioned just happens to be my 2 favorite LEs. They are both really different beasts. The FBMLE is a massive and superb chopper. Probably the best factory chopper out there. The ASH1LE is one of the most comfortable busse knife for me. It is a medium sized knife and is probably more useful as a General Purpose Utility knife while the FBMLE is more of a specialized chopper.
 
What the others said above is very true.

Get both and sell the one you don't like (you won't sell either;))

If you can get only one now, get the FBMLE. It will probably be gone from the store soon, and the ASH1LE will probably show up there next, along with a host of other ASH color combinations.
 
They are both great blades, but it all depends on your usage. For a chopper go with the FMBLE. For more of an all-arounder you can't beat the ASH-1 LE. It is one of the best ever offered by Busse, IMO.

I would opt for the ASH-1 LE if you don't need to clear big limbs all the time.

Either way you'll be happy. If not you can always sell it if you don't like it.
 
Bite the bullet and get them both before they're gone. You'll regret it later if you don't!

Those 2 are my favorite Busse knives.

FBMLE first... ASH-1 LE a bit later... but definitely both! :thumbup:

Thanks for all the input sounds like I have to have them both! I will take the advice of getting the FBMLE first, and then the ASHLE afterwards. Thanks for all the responses.
 
Good choice, The FBM LE will be gone soon as others have said and the ASH LE's may be available at the Co. store after they come done from the Home site.:thumbup:

Plus, it is the patriarch of the Busse Combat family of knives.

You won't regret it. (no regrets, remember)

You will probably have more shots at the ASH1 in the future.

The Co. Store will likely have some.
 
FBMLE if you can swing it, it's VERY impressive!

The only problem is that it's so huge you can hardly take it anywhere without looking like a crazy person :eek:
 
I love the FBMLE! The ASH-1 LE is a great knife as well. Why not purchase both? Here is a pic for comparison:

I could stand it no more after all the advice, I got on the country store website and purchased the FBM LE Friday. Next purchase will be the ASH LE but I have to wait a bit or sell the CG ASH I have setting in the safe.

I recieved a book from amazon Friday. When my lovely wife saw the box the first comment out of her mouth was "another knife"? I have been fortunate enough in the last few weeks to purchase a busse or two and I suppose I should slow down a bit.

Thanks again for all the help with which knife to purchase first.
