Limited enough not to use 730-1301?

Anyone think the new 730-1301 Ares is limited enough to keep for the future? Generally, I am not rich enough for safe Queens, but I could save it and sell it in the future.

I always tend to use my knives, mostly because I doubt the value of said knife will rise that much.

Anyone think this model will rise enough to make it worth not using? I doubt s30v and green/black G10 is that special. Thoughts?

I would assume it has more to do with the number made than the materials to a certain extent.

This is no different, the value might go up, but it's not likely to be enough for you to retire off of. It is still, after all a production knife. Unless you have corned the market, I'd say use it.

TBH, unless you land on a must-have limited run, don't expect to make a large profit on collectors pocket knives. If you're looking a quick profit, invest your money elsewhere.

But who knows what the market would look like 30 years from now, perhaps present and past production knives could be come a hot collectors item.

If it would be worth, say, $300 in a year from now, I'd consider keeping it nib, but I doubt it will ever be that much. Even that is much profit. I paid full retail - $230.

I really want to just carry it and enjoy it, but I rarely get to buy a limited edition, let alone an Ares.

Enjoy your knife dude, carry it, use it, and let it become your go to tool for cutting stuff. It's a great knife and you're lucky enough to have scored one. I had not seen any advertising for this model at all. They were posted as sold out across the board within minutes, if not right off the bat.

I hate that I missed out on these. I almost pulled the trigger on pre-order but hesitated (not knowing the number that would be produced was so small) and they showed out of stock almost immediately.

This just reinforces my theory that all of the good Benchmades that I want are limited-run or no longer produced.

Meh, I would have used it if I had gotten one.

I know a place that had one 730-1301 left as of last Friday. Please send me a message if you'd like the info.
